From this point forward, I plan to tag the end of all my posts with a brief writing exercise. Do with them as you please, but I would prefer that you actually DO them. Some decent chunks of thought have gone into these. And they're short, my god are they short. They're so short that.....they're not too terribly tall. If you do them, perhaps some monetary compensation will come your way. Just give me your bank name and account number. Oooroooooorrrrrrrr instead, you can give me sweet, nourishing attention.
By the way, all of these will be timed exercises. If you're used to ruminating over every single detail before you write any word, you're gonna have to let that part of you go temporarily. Just keep pecking away at the keyboard (or keep scribbling away on your paper you dinosaur you) until the timer stops. You have every permission in the world to be messy with the English language here. When your're channeled into a more stream of consciousness mindset, you're less inhibited and more productive on the creative front.
Ok, so here's the 1st one:
Writing Exercise: The ABC's
Time to Set: 10 Minutes
Start with the sentence, "There was a strange incident that happened in town today." In the next sentence, the first word you use must begin with an A. In the sentence after that, start the first word with the letter B, and henceforth.
(Articles such as A, An, and The are exempt from this rule and are allowed to start sentences as long as the following word follows the pattern.)
Thank's for checking out the beginning of my blogging venture. I plan to release at least one new post every week So if you've enjoyed this so far, that's good...although I have do have to question your taste in things.
